Eggless Strawberry Mousse

Just 3 ingredients. And what do you get in return for putting them together? Dreamy, airy, pink-a-luscious yumminess that’ll make you feel like you’re floating amidst clouds. Pink clouds. Pink clouds that have sweet succulent strawberries hanging from them.

Be Cointreaupolitan!

Is it apt for me to begin by saying – “Welcome back!” both to you and me? I think so, yes. I’ve missed blogging like crazy. I’ve missed you all even more. Moving to the new domain is taking time due to small hiccups, so here’s what I’m doing. I’m going to resume blogging on here for now and then move to the new domain once everything is ironed out. And I’m resuming by raising a toast to 2012 and all you wonderful people who’ve stood by me right from the start. A real toast replete of real spirit. The kind of spirit that *hic* makes you go tipsy *hic* all the way *hic*!

Frappé Mochacchino

Sometimes, life throws so many curve balls at you, you just don’t know what to do. That’s what happened with me for a while, and I was completely disoriented to say the least. The only thing that I kept at was the Baking workshops, to ensure I retained my sanity. But hey, I’m out of the blues now and I’m back to being my normal self so y’all can forget this lull even happened. How about I put an end to my hiatus with something that is pure evil? Asian Pickled Ginger | Sushi Ginger | Gari

Peter Piper picked a peck of pickled peppers,
Did Peter Piper pick a peck of pickled peppers?
If Peter Piper picked a peck of pickled peppers,

Where is the peck of pickled peppers Peter Piper picked?

I bet you cannot say that atleast once without stuttering. Well, I cannot say it without goofing up either, but there a couple more tongue twisters I’m pretty good at. Have always loved tongue twisters and riddles right from the time I was little. I used to collect them by the dozen and write them down neatly in a diary meant specially for those. Aaah, I’m hit by a huge wave of sweet childhood memories now. But we’re not here to talk about tongue twisters or riddles today. Not even childhood memories. We’re here to talk pickles. And not Peter’s pickled peppers, but my pickled sushi ginger. My mouth is watering. I’m salivating like a baby. I’m flooding my laptop keyboard. Help!

Review: Cafe Coffee Day’s Summer Beverage Menu

So, you think that Cafe Coffee Day is all about coffee? Who says so? Doesn’t the picture say it’s NOT just about the kaapi? Still not convinced eh? Well then, allow me to have the pleasure of changing your opinion. Actually, I don’t even have to make an effort. The new line of Summer beverages and special sundaes will have you changing your mind before you even know it.

Cottage-cheese Chops with Potato Cream Dip

Are you a vegetarian/eggitarian like me? If the answer to that question is “yes”, picture this – you’re watching a favourite cookery show on tv. You’re all spruced up with pen and paper to take recipe notes (or atleast mental notes, like me), seated comfortably in your favourite chair. The show starts, and the chef/anchor comes in and what does he/she announce the first recipe for the day as? “Chicken something-something”, or “Fish something-something”. Bam! Your attention goes slack once you hear the words “chicken”, “fish”, “lamb” (or any reference to something that was once able to creep/crawl), and anything after those words are lost in space. Sounds familiar? What do you do then? Do you switch channels, or do you still watch? Earlier, I used to be the kinds that would go “Ewwww!” and prefer the channel switch. Now however, I stay put and watch, and start thinking about how I can make a veg version with the ideas from the recipe. After all, fresh ideas for recipe concepts are always welcome, no? Deviled Potatoes

I love having people over, and I love hosting parties. I love everything to do with the hosting – planning, sending out invites, the prepping, and I don’t even mind the clearing up after everyone’s left too. There’s one thing I just hate doing though - preparing starters that entail deep-frying. Much as they are the easiest to dish up, I just abhor the thought of standing in front of the frying pan. Not my cup of tea. Uggghh! So when Nags suggested we all come up with ideas for savoury appetizers that would be easy to make in bulk (for about 50 people or more), it had me all excited. It was like she had leafed through my mind and decided to give me a chance to fix for my problem.

Cabbage Parantha

I know, I know, I know…I’ve been missing in action for some time now and you must be rolling those pretty eyes and wondering why. I was really held up on the personal front. There was a medical emergency in the family, and I had neither the time nor the inclination to come and talk to you guys. No inclination b’cos I didn’t want to rub off my sombre mood onto you all. I like to spread cheer, not gloom. Luckily, all our prayers worked. God gave us the strength to brave the situation, and a major disaster was averted. All’s well again, thanks to a wonderful set of Doctors who worked a miracle with their healing hands. I have always admired the medical fraternity for their selfless work and my respect for them has only increased many-fold in the last one month. Thank you Doctors, for giving us your best and saving a precious life in the family. Saying ‘thank you’ seems lilliputian in comparison to what you have done for us, but that is the only word I can think of to aptly express our heart-felt gratitude. Thanks to all the support staff at the hospital too. I cannot think of anyone else being able to give the kind of focused attention and care to the patient like you guys do. I humbly bow down to all of you for your selfless service. Thanks also to all my friends and family for the prayers and wishes…they really helped us stay positive throughout.
