Updates, updates and more updates!

I’ve been busy. Very busy. And all for good reason. The baking workshops at ‘Bakenomics‘ are shaping up quite well, and I couldn’t be happier. And with the holiday month on, life has turned me into an even busier bee as my home-baking business ‘Sweet Somethings‘ is diligently churning out exquisite home-baked Christmas goodies. Before I tell you more about this though, let me give you an important update. A very very important update. Sit tight in that chair ‘cos this piece of news calls for undivided attention.

Frappé Mochacchino

Sometimes, life throws so many curve balls at you, you just don’t know what to do. That’s what happened with me for a while, and I was completely disoriented to say the least. The only thing that I kept at was the Baking workshops, to ensure I retained my sanity. But hey, I’m out of the blues now and I’m back to being my normal self so y’all can forget this lull even happened. How about I put an end to my hiatus with something that is pure evil? Sweet-corn Panna Cotta

Is it August already? Oh. My. God. Is time really flying fast or is it just me? The memory of the new year party is still fresh in my mind (so is the memory of the hangover, but let’s not go there now ;) ). And I can’t believe that the Free-spirit Bloggers are into the 4th month already. Phew, now I know it’s just not me. Time IS really flying. Well hello there Mr. Time. Why don’t you take it easy for a bit huh?

Healthy Apple & Jack-fruit Salad

If you are a weight-watcher, then this one’s for you. Well the good news is, even if you’re not, this one’s still for you. It’s for everybody, cos you cannot deprive yourself of such a delicious and healthy salad. It’s got granny smith apples, its got red delicious apples, its got radish, its got carrot, its got jackfruit, its got raw mango (keri),  some pickled ginger (yes, this is where some of my Gari went!), a roasted cumin vinaigrette, some chopped parsley, and that’s it. Voila! Yeah, I’ve said it all so you don’t really need a recipe for this one now, do you? Would you still need me to sit and type it out all over again in an organised manner? If you just answered yes, I must admit that I’ve spoilt you guys rotten. But I love doing it, and that’s what I’m here for. So yeah, I’ll give you the detailed recipe all the same :)

Asian Pickled Ginger | Sushi Ginger | Gari

Peter Piper picked a peck of pickled peppers,
Did Peter Piper pick a peck of pickled peppers?
If Peter Piper picked a peck of pickled peppers,

Where is the peck of pickled peppers Peter Piper picked?

I bet you cannot say that atleast once without stuttering. Well, I cannot say it without goofing up either, but there a couple more tongue twisters I’m pretty good at. Have always loved tongue twisters and riddles right from the time I was little. I used to collect them by the dozen and write them down neatly in a diary meant specially for those. Aaah, I’m hit by a huge wave of sweet childhood memories now. But we’re not here to talk about tongue twisters or riddles today. Not even childhood memories. We’re here to talk pickles. And not Peter’s pickled peppers, but my pickled sushi ginger. My mouth is watering. I’m salivating like a baby. I’m flooding my laptop keyboard. Help!

Chocolate Rum Pots

I know this blog has ‘chocolate’ written all over it. Sorry, I can’t help it. Some obsessions are not shaken off very easily, especially if they involve the C-word. I made these chocolate rum pots twice recently, and both times they were a big hit. So how could I not share it with you, right? Continue reading
